If you have 2 shells welded together can you still place a flange over the seam or is there going to be issues down the road.

This is a weldment, steel. I wouldn't worry 'bout a flange welded over a seam if the flange location is required.
Will the flange have blind tapped holes to connect flanged pipe? Or, will the flange be raised to allow for the use of bolts?

Its a raised face long weldneck so there is plenty of room for bolts!! Thanks for the info
