Hi this is my first time on this website, I was wondering if I could get the opinion from any professionals that use this website. First I need to quickly ouline my story first  bear with me. Ok I graduated from university last year studying Architectural Technology and have no experience in the construction. I have tried to look for architectural/ architectural tech internships and even work experience places with no luck not even interviews (usually get a letter saying blahblah not enough work blahblah keep you on file).I didn't leave university with a great mark because I didn't get along with half assed way they taught us dragging out a couple months of material over 3 odd years (one case during a autocad module handing us a printout and then disappearing for a whole 2 semesters). But I did manage to teach myself autocad and other programs to a good level with the help of the university library. What I did miss is how to put a good portfolio of work together and what I should put in it which my lecturers should have taught us I struggled to get interviews with just a CV and e-mails so I believe I should force my portfolios under their noses. Any ideas of what kind of things I should include in my portfolio to get their attention? Thanks

Well, just include your best work. Go for quality over quantity. Most likely they're just going to flip through a few pages anyway, so you want to grab they're attention. I would also recommend including drawings you've done by hand, color graphics, 3D renderings, etc. You don't want to have a portfolio filled with nothing but CAD drawings. That's pretty boring and shows that you're very limited in what you can offer. Mix it up and show them your versatility. These guys look at portfolios every day, so they want to see someone who stands out from the crowd. Show them you're more than just a CAD monkey.
