Can you be more specific?Have you tried setting your Visual Style to "Realistic"?

What version of Autocad are you using?Have you consulted your Autocad Help files?Take a look at the tutorials here: http://www.we-r-here.com/cad/tutorials/level_3/3-1.htm

If your using AutoCAD 2009 or newer you can click on the material en they put it automaticly in your materials, you than press a couple of times escape en you click on the material you just import. and attach it to your object. Press space or enter to conform this.
