HP Draftmaster I? I doubt you could find a free driver that would work with WinXP. You might be able to use a generic driver. I believe HP does have one if I am not mistaken. Check their website.
Thanks,Ive got up to this point on their site then it takes me in loops and doesnt give me a download option...is it just me or is there no link to downloadhttp://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=12766&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=25298&swEnvOID=2002&taskId=135&swLang=8

Yikes! I'm very sorry about that. I've downloaded drivers from there in the past with no problem. Perhaps the site was hacked.I've used USB to parallel "pigtail" between my computer and a HP Designjet 500 with mixed results. Sometimes AutoCAD would lose the plotter and I'd have to reload the driver.Another option I've tried is installing a PCI add-on parallel port card.
No worries John...i got rid of it i just think this plotter is too ancient for xp...but tks for the suggestions...
