I'm attempting to open an access file, form and go to a specific record from an autocad drawing. using excell and creating a macro I've gotten as far as to get the form open but can't get to the specific record. can any 1 tell me how?

You say you are attempting to open an "access" file yet you mention Excel in the very next sentence.  Are you trying to do this in MS Access or MS Excel?  Either way, I think it is going to be difficult to open to a specific record without somehow including it in the path statement assuming AutoCAD will recognize it in the hyperlink. I have a autocad drawing with points these points are linked to a excell file in that excell file is a button when you click the button it starts a macro that then opens an access file and the form i want, but don't know how to get it to open the specific record.  the record aka "point id" would be the same as the the point name in my autocad drawing.  I may have to apply this macro to each individual point in my drawing.  I just need that macro to perform a search on a specific column in the access table and for it to recognise the Point name in the autocad drawing and search the access table for that "point Id"

That sounds rather involved.  AutoCAD to Excel to Access.
