Display full version of the post: Hyperlinks
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2014, and I want to create a hyperlink in a drawing
containing Mtext, so that it will open another drawing which the Mtext refers to.
So far I've only managed to create a hyperlink which opens ONLY the folder containing the drawing.

It sounds like you have an incomplete path.
Hello John
I've checked the path time and time again, it is correct, but the link opens
only the explorer folder where the drawing lives, and doesn't open the drawing itself.

What's the path?
Hello John
Thank you for taking the time to consider this post.
The path/drwing file is as follows:
C:\Documents and Settings\Syd Derbyshire\My Documents\My Pictures\IKO\WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM\EXISTG_DRAWINGS\DISK2\#SCHEMATIC FOR KITCHEN AREA OFFICES_18.dwg
Thanks Syd

So you get as far as the folder which is EXISTG_DRAWINGS then it stops? One thing came to mind. If the process is actually stopping at DISK2 then the < # > in the file name is probably the culprit.#SCHEMATIC FOR KITCHEN AREA OFFICES_18.dwg

Hello John
No, it gets to DISK2 and then stops, I can double click on the displayed drawing to open it;
but I shouldn't have to do that surely?
Syd
Hello John
You're right # is the culprit, yet the drawing will still open in AA in the usual manner.
When I rename the file without the prefix #, then the hyperlink opens the draawing fine.
Many thanks for your consideration and solving the problem for me.
Kindest Regards
Syd
