Hello,

I have a Intel P4 3,0 GHz with Hyperthreading.
We have a big cad file (50 MB) My System have 1 GB of RAM.
I Start Acad. After opening file, I have 200 MB free memory.
The value of Variable WHIPTHREAD is 3.
Now when I switch to layout 1 it remains 2:35 min.
I set the variable WHIPTHREAD to 0 (zero) an close acad complete.
Then I started acad again, opening the same file and switch to the same layout 1. But this take 2:32 min.
Why is it not faster, on whipthread=3?

thanks

The results may also depend on your graphics card, other Windows processes and activities, cache, etc. Please note that WHIPTHREAD controls only display operations, not other functions which may be performed by AutoCAD on layout switching (like 3D transformations, xrefs, fonts, clipping, reactors, undo files...).

Thanks for your replay.I have also checked my taskmanager and see, that acad works around by only 50% of CPU. (with wipthread 0 and 3)My file is a standard 2D drawing, without xrefs.I have a ATI 9800 Pro graphics card with 512 MB of RAM. Okay, I know, its not a CAD - card, but I think, the graphics card is fast enough. Zoom an PAN going good. What is your experience? What is the load of your CPU?What for a acad-Version do you have?
