A bit large for carrying around.

Take a peek-a-boo at Thinkpad™ laptops.

I've had four of them, all ran AutoCAD without ever having a problem.

Lenovo's customer service is #1.

No, I don't work for Lenovo. But, I have owned many laptops.

@TankmanThanks for the reply :)I have no problem with carrying it around , as my current laptop weighs way much heavier than this one, and I'm used to that.I just need your comments on the whether the above specs are going to give me the right performance for 3D work.Thank you

Chupalok! Great work! Looks like a photograph!

What programming did you use?

Again, WOW!

I might mention, the smaller screen laptops add time to battery life!
Unless you have a dual screen Thinkpad™ laptop! Dream on!Tankman2009-12-31 15:12:14

No way a laptop is going to out run a well equipped workstation and/or desktop.

I move around, don't render, laptop is a necessity for me most of the time.

I enjoy sitting at my workstation with its' 36" LCD monitor!

OK thnx for the help guys, how about the following specs for a desktop :Intel® Core i5 - 750 ProcessorGIGABYTE Motherboard GA-P55 UD4PGIGABYTE NVIDIA GTX285 - 1GB6GB RAM - (expandable to 16GB)500 GB HDDFSP Power Supply 700W EPSILON700This desktop is twice as much in price as the laptop above, and I'm really tight on budget right now, so I would really appreciate your comments on whether it is worth it to go for the desktop ?My work is 70% 2D and 30% 3D, in my 3D work I'm mainly doing some exterior renders to the building that I design and not so much interior shots.I'll be looking foreword to your comments.Regards,Daddu2000

Go as BIG as your budget will permit!

You will not be disappointed! Fully "loaded" laptops compete very well with desktops.

My Lenovo Thinkpad™ laptops run very well both 2D and 3D when I need it. Tankman2010-01-07 00:11:40

I'm using Lenovo laptop as well and it work great too. But Toshiba is a good brand and I've heard good feedback from it. You're specs are awesome I think it's worth investing.
