I would think you couldn't.

From your AutoCAD Help file:

"Normally, when image frames are not displayed, you cannot select images. However, the IMAGECLIP command temporarily turns image frames on."John Connor2011-03-01 14:29:22

If you're going to delete the image, why not just turn the image frame on then delete the image?Set [VAR]IMAGEFRAME[/VAR] = 1Good Luck!!

I get the impression he doesn't want to turn the frame on for some unexplained reason.

Unless this image is a duplicate that you just want to get rid of, you don't want to delete it. That won't get rid of it. You want to Detach it. Open your Image Manager, select the image and click the "Detach" button.

Is the image part of an Xref?

HAWDesigner

Or part of a block, maybe?

Or maybe it's an OLE object? Try OLEFRAME and set it to 1 or 2.

Hit Ctrl all, and it will highlight EVERYTHING, then hold Shift key and window everything but the Image frame that is selected.  Obviously this will not be the way to go if this is a dwg with alot of data.

Hmmmmm, I give him the answer but John Conner gets the thanks and I get lumped in with the "all". That's nice.

[/QUOTE]Yeah, that sounds about par for the course. It's ok though, those of us paying attention know the score.
