Using AutoCAD LT 2010 I was able to successfully insert/attach my pdf files into my title-block and it looks great. However when I send the .dwg file to my client (he is using AutoCAD LT 2009 he can open the .dwg file but the .pdf files I attached was not visable, only my title block and lettering on the border. Any ideas as to why this happened? Is there any way to set up the .dwg file so any .pdf files once attached will stay attached even when I e-mail it to someone using another version of AutoCAD LT?thanks in advance for your help!
Why it happened:
When you attach something, it has an existing file location that it references every time you open it. When you send it, it aint there.
How to fix:
hmmm....either send the pdf with the drawing (not recomended)
or....since you attached it to a title block...re-draw it in Acad and screw the pdf.
Did you ever try to use 'eTransmit' ?
Let' try,
go to > File > eTransmit.. (follow the step..) It also useful when your drawings contained xrefs and images.
thanks.
So eTransmit ....bundles all the files together for export? like a 'pack and go' in inventor?
tulip,
yes, something like that, but i'm not sure with inventor or upper version of Autocad. I'm using LDD 2005 and i always do that (eTransmit) when sending the drawings package to the clients. Normally, my drawing included a bunch of xrefs, blocks, images, pen style etc.
When you do eTransmit, all entities from the drawings included xrefs and attached images or whatever will be copied and stored in a zip folder. Grab that folder and burn to the cd. That what i would do.
thanks, hope this helps.

Hi,im read from the pdf-to-CAD converter in the net.See google for this kwd. or wisit in the site:www-aidecad.combrg: ludo
Been using pdf2cad for several years; www.pdf2cad.com.
A 30-day free trial is available online for download.
Doesn't do a great job but, will get you started 'n running.
Most lines and text become fragmented. Might anyone know how to "join" the bits 'n pieces? Tankman2010-01-03 14:51:15
