We are an architectural millwork company that is looking to spruce up our shop drawings by adding a page that includes images or thumbnails of our hardware specifications. We are trying to determine which type of image is best for inserting these thumbnails, .tiff, .jpg, ect. Our concern is that if there is too much information in these images (which could be up to 16-20 images per drawing)that they will "bog down" the drawing and interfere with regeneration or even "crash" AutoCAD all together. Does anyone have a recommendation regarding the most effective way to achieve this?

If you are going to "insert" the images then I think you would want to use the file type that gives you the smallest possible file size would you not?  Have you run any tests?  Another option might be to utilize hyperlinks in the drawing that would then open up the selected image since there could be so many.John Connor2016-11-23 18:57:13

Yes, we definitely want to use the smallest file type available. .jpg seems to be the smallest but the resolution is compromised. Hyperlink would not be an option as we are trying to get this information on physical paper for quick reference.
