Hi All,Recently while googling I came across with one autoinstall setup which refere as 'Automatically install free cad software' and in their post they mention we can install DraftSight automatically on windows. My question:Is it good to install such software?one benefit which i can see is installation usually takes lot of time and we need to be present while doing installation but here if we run this autoinstall software then we don't need to wait for installation.Bad thing is we cant read terms and condition. Please let me know so i can reduce my installation time and of course it affects when we have to install on hundreds of computer same software.

Draftsight is a good program and I'd recommend it to anyone who is in need of a free 2D CAD program. Installing Draftsight is very quick compared to AutoCAD so anyone can do it. I think it took me less than 10 minutes to download and install the program.

Thanks John,I am surprised to see quick reply to my post. And yeh you r right it takes less than 10 minutes to install DraftSight.I wonder if they make such auto install set up for software which take time up to 30 minutes or so .I am going to cheek auto install set up from cadoasis . com how good it is.

It largely depends on the complexity of the program. Full AutoCAD (2D and 3D) contains thousands of more lines of code than Draftsight which is primarily a 2D program. Plus AutoCAD carries a lot of legacy code as well as API's and AutoLisp which is used for Express Tools.

HI Abhijeet,We always believe in reducing repetitive and annoying work when it comes to Design on any of CAD Software. We are not promoting or not defaming any CAD software. For us all are useful tools to create wonderful designs. We are just trying to reduce your time and for that as a demo we released our fist application AutoInstall for DraftSight. keeping in mind that it has some issues we noted it in our release note and for ease of your use we made it free to use.Keep sharing, Keep learning and Keep growing ..!Thanks Manoj Shinde,CadOasis

I wouldn't recommend the use of a third-party program to install another program unless it had a proven track record of reliability, was thoroughly vetted by an outside source or supplied by a known/reliable source. For all you know the program could be loading malware on your computer or software for tracking your Internet usage or for stealing personal information.
