I find when having multiple groups on a drawing such as a plant layout, when I copy an item that is grouped and paste it, I sometimes loose the grouping. This causes me plenty of issues when I then move something later not realized it is no longer grouped, and I loose parts of the drawing. Can someone tell me how to keep my groups grouped.

Not sure with LT05'...but you could just do a workaround and paste it seperate, with an insertion point...then just re-group in your new drawing. Or insert as a block, ex ref...ect...

You are doing a copy/paste between two drawings?

Yes sometimes I am taking a machine from maybe a suppliers drawing or just from another drawing of mine. Copy it and past it in the layout where I want it. We move around machinery so much here that I may go to move that in the floor layout at a later time and not realize it is not grouped, then of course move parts but not all of the drawing.

Ever thought of just creating a block instead?

Yeah...doesnt work like that. Sorry. Create blocks like John suggested or just x ref them in...I'm pretty sure object grouping is per drawing, as you have discovered...
