Hi,When you open layer properties manager than in right top corner there is a very usefull box "search for layer".Unfortunatelly that box search only in names of layers and what if I want to search in descriptions of layers?Do you know any way to search for the phrase in description on layer?

Sorry, there is no way that I know of (at least in 2009 or earlier). All you can do with the descriptions is sort them by clicking on the title bar.

No, this is not possible in the layer dialog, nor in the layer filters.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to add this to the AutoCAD 2012 wishlist. I'm still reading through the many current responses to the thread below, but I don't see it yet.http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2011/Your-1-wish-for-Acad2012/m-p/2898064#M10903

Maybe rather 2013 - the function set for AutoCAD 2012 is frozen already as this version is near to release.

Very true. I can hardly wait to get my hands on 2012. (We upgrade every 3 years here)

[/QUOTE]oh thats a pity.......But this is good initiative by You HAWDesignerThe problem with searching through layer descriptions occurs when layer names are made according to some company standard using acronims etc, and you are not able to search for the apriopriate phrase in it. Then if there is any description for layers you  can find what you want if you will have tool for searching in descriptionsthanks
