I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 trying to figure out how to develop contour lines using an existing survey site plan with existing spot elevations and I haven't figured out yet how to do it. Does Civil 3D do this?

I appreciate the help. :-)

How is that related to AutoCAD Civil3D 2010?

Hi,

I'm not sure with Autocad Civil3D 2010, because I'm using LDD 2005 for many years. But I am strongly believe that is possibly Civil3D has the same kind of features related to LDD in contours generating or volume computation etc.

In TME under 'Terrain' menu, in order to generate contours, firstly. you need to have a group of informations data. In your case it was the existing spots elevation. You can grab them all into TME for surfaces creating process. You need to name the surface and then 'Build'.

Once the surface has been created, then you can create contours and also modifying them by using some contour features under 'Terrain' menu. Try to make yourself familiar with TME. My suggestion, go to tutorials and it will make you understand better.

That's all I can say. Good luck.Rman2010-01-22 02:13:21
