Hello, if I understand your need :
You have drawn objects in the object space and there are lines ( defined by different layers ) that you want to show or not in the paper space trough different viewports.
If it's this that you want, it's not to complicated to set.
You go to your paper space and open a viewport, then you open the LAYER control panel and select each layet to freeze ( in the port and not in the new ports ).
You clic on the litttle sun that turns to an ice star, then the layers frozen are nor shown in THAT viewport.
The best is to create layer for example DIMENSION_VIEWPORT_1 for the lines, dimensions, blocks that you want to see only in the 1st viewport and that you will freeze in the other viewports.
All this may look complicated but it's not too difficult ( or only the 2 first times ).
The fact of laying in that special layer a block contituted of any other layer lines will allow you showing the entire block or not conformbly to your needs.
Ask for more or correct me.............

When you open the Layer Properties Manager (while in a paper space layout) there will be a column with the heading VP FREEZE.  That is what you are looking for.

The "GOTCHA" in this process is that you have to "activate" the viewport for it to work.  You can't just be on the Layout tab.

You need to double click within the viewport itself and enter Model space.  *Then* click the VP Freeze layers you want to control.  When you leave model space things are set up for that viewport only.

Brought to you by your friendly Dept of Redundancey Dept... because this was one of those little things that took a while to sink in with me at first too!

Dave.

A "L-section"?  Do you mean a cross-section?  Or are we, as the thread indicates, talking about a layout?A "lips" application?  That would be "lipstick".  Talk to your wife or girlfriend about that.  I think you mean a "lisp routine" which is a program.John Connor2012-05-05 22:42:55
