Hi Friends, Can someone help me out on how to use line weights for creating depth in a elevation drawing. . .

Hi theshell07,

Although I don,t use REVIT very often (Autocad 2010), the thing to keep in mind is this: for example lets say you have 3 parts to a building, part 1 being the closest and part 3 being the farthest, the closest part will be the thickest line weight, then the 2nd will be a lighter line weight, etc. For roofs I usually have the closest roof set at a bigger hatch pattern (eg. scale 100 for metric)and gradually reduce the scale for each roof that is farther away.

Hi GpThanks for the reply. . I agree with Ur suggestion, the point is i would like to know how to u use line weight  in Revit. . I have formed the elevation but the output looks very flat. cant make the the difference in the depth. .

you may also try this:
 
right click, override graphics in view by element, and check the half tone for the objects that are in the back.
