Hi everyone,

I am looking for a template (*.DWT) for a 8.5 inches by 11 inches sheet of paper. A nice rectangle with a place for adding hand written notes and a place for all the info (name of the CIE, created by, verified by, approved by, name, date, scale and so on...)

I work in research and developement. I recently invented something that will be in the market very soon. I am just learning autocad and so far I can`t make something visualy attractive.

Thanks in advance for the help and advise.UniversalDot2008-07-24 03:59:49

Hey,

i think i may be able to give you a hand, i'm looking for some extra work, with the template you can either make a attribute for some of the information, because with a template you enter it as a block in the paper space. The thing is with some information which will stay the same for the whole project (eg. The client), when making this block you make attribute for that information on the template, so when you insert this into your pspace, you can not edit it, but only if you put the command bedit and so you can edit for how you want, but with the information which will change as the project goes on, insert the attribute in the pspace.

i don't know how far you have gotten with AutoCAD but i am willing to help you out by sending through a example.

Cheers,
Brett

In order to make a dwt file all you have to do is draw your box to the size you want and use MText to create text a box(s) and type in the info you need.

As far as making it look "visualy attractive" there are several line types and line thicknesses to choose from and more colors than you can dream of to make it look nice.  All of this is either in your starter bok that may have come with your version of ACAD or in the Help, or you could buy just about any ACAD book for the version you have and it will usually tell you all of this in the first 4-5 chapters of the book.
