I have AutoCAD 2010. i have a problem with my ltscale changing in model space after I set it to 1. It keeps going back to .4 every time I go to paper space and then come back to Model space.

Try doing it this way and see if it makes any difference. To change linetype
scale globally
Click Home tab > Properties panel > Linetype.
In the Linetype
Manager, click Show Details to expand the dialog box.
Enter a new value for
Global Scale Factor.
Click OK.

It is always helpful to us if we know our advice worked or it didn't.Does this same odd behavior occur in any other drawing other than this one or is it an isolated event? One other question, do you use any custom lisp routines?

sorry about that. It happens on every drawing I do. No there are no custom lisp routines.

I'm stalling at the moment.  I thought I came across something early in an Internet search but when you did not reply to my last question I axed the web page and went on to something else.  Now I'm having a problem remembering what I used as my search criteria.  Give me a few moments maybe it will come to me.

I think I found an answer to your problem or at the very least a fix.  You can download from this website a lisp program called SYSVARLOCK that will basically lock your system variables once they are set so they cannot be reset.Click on the link below.  When you get to the page use your Page Down key numerous times to get way, way down the list to the section called CAD Utilities.  Look for SysVarLock, click on the floppy disk to the left and download the .rar file and extract the lisp routine.  Use the Appload command to load it.  Make sure you are in model space and have just reset your LTSCALE to 1 before running the routine.Caveat: I haven't used the routine so I can't tell you for sure whether it works as promised or not.  You'll have to test it for yourself.  Good luck.http://www.cadstudio.cz/en/download.asp
