I'm trying to match viewports in paper space to inherit the layer set up. All of a sudden I'm not able to do it. The whole story is that I have one file with several layouts and want to match its paperspace viewports. I know that you can't use the match properties within one file, so I created a junk file where I can copy from, but it is not working now. Could it be because I have 20 layouts in the same file?Control-C is not working either, it copies, but I don't carry the original viewport layout. What am I doing wrong?

I can't tell you what you're doing wrong, but I can tell you that what I just tried worked fine.  Here's what I did:I set up a Layout with a viewport and then activated it (meaning I double-clicked inside the viewport to work in Model space). Then I VPort froze a couple of layers.  VP Freeze may be your answer here to creating different vport looks. At this point I Ctrl-Shift Copied the VPort using 0,0 as the base point. When I Ctrl-V pasted this vport in another Layout all the settings carried across.I don't think it matters how many Layouts you have.  But it's important to know what your source viewport is and how things are set before you start copying and pasting.Dave.

If you are having trouble with your keyboard shortcuts in general try resetting your Profile.

Thank you. VP Freeze seems to work. However, and this would be a complain to AutoCAD/Autodesk, the "match command" should be able to do this. And I should be able to match view ports within a file, at present I can match from one file to another, but can't within the same file (as soon as I change layout it disappears).  Thank you Dave.
