Hello!I would like to use Make Linetype /MKLTYPE/ and Make Shape /MKSHAPE/  commands in Express Tools menu, but unfortunately it doesn't work, I don't know why... I tried it in AutoCAD 2007 and also in 2009.When I have to assign the objects in the end of the command, it sign 0 mark. I pacticed with both assignment mode...I think something wrong in my settings, but I can't get in the swing of that. Thanks for every help or advice!

If you post a drawing file with the linetype and/or shape you are trying to use I'll give it a look.  Maybe I can figure out what the problem is then tell you how to solve it.  I have access to AutoCAD 2011 and 2012.

All I see are 5 line segments.  Is there no text? What is this linetype supposed to represent?

I tried your drawing file and it failed for me too.  So I started a new drawing and reproduced the five lines exactly as they are shown (length and spacing) in your drawing.  This time it worked.  I don't know what the problem with your drawing file is but I suggest you try again and use a new drawing when you do so.

Hello, unfortunately it doesn't work...I tried it so many times...I think the problem is in my CAD program...What do you think? it will be any SETVAR setting, that is wrong in my program???

Thanks for every help

I can try it in AutoCAD 2007 but not until I return to work on Monday. What was the line supposed to represent? Was there any text included?I do not think it has anything to do with a SETVAR setting.I could recreate the linetype for you if you give me the information you want me to use when it comes to naming it and the description.  Then I could email the necessary files to you.

Hello! Thanks for your answer.I uploaded 2 new linetype to MECHANICAL\ OTHERS...http://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?cat=31&page=3Their name is Line & txt1 and Line & txt2...My results are already zero...without reference to line name, description or the contents of the line. The first line was just a try-out, I wanted to try their commands (MKLTYPE and MKSHAPE), because I make an educational video about AUTOCAD, and I want to present all way of making linetype...I can make any linetype in .lin file, but this is useasy...and I'd like to try this mode too...I hope, you will understand my english, I am out of practice a bit...Thanks for your help, Hebi

"My results are already zero..."You were unable to make either custom linetype using the MKSHAPE and MKLTYPE commands?

This site is very frustrating.  Waited forever to upload a file but finally gave up.  Why must it be so difficult?Anyway, I copied and pasted the contents of the file below.  It is the linetype definition for Line_&_Text_2.  Is this what you were looking for Hebi?  I could not use your dwg file because the MKLTYPE would not work in it.  I don't understand why that is.  I opened a new drawing, using AutoCAD 2012, and got it to work though.*LINE_AND_TEXT_2,Line with textA,31.218708,-12.167325,["TXT  >  TXT",Standard,y=-5,s=10,u=0],-117.167325John Connor2011-08-02 12:40:48
