Hi,
I am just learning AutoCAD 2008 LT and I have a problem with the zoom in & zoom out.

I have learnt a CAD program called Vulcan by Maptek and the first thing I notice with AutoCAD is that the zoom is opposite to that of Vulcan.
The best way to describe the difference is this. In AutoCAD rotating the wheel forward take the user closer to the drawing, in Vulcan rotating the wheel forward pushes the drawing away from the user.

So the reflex of operating the zoom in Vulcan has to be unlearnt for AutoCAD.
My question is this.
Is there a way of setting the direction that the drawing zooms in AutoCAD? So that I could aline it with my Vulcan experience.
Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

Good Morning,
Yes I did see the tip, after I had posted, it is just what I need.
My next question is how do I change the system variables?
I need to set ZOOMWHEEL to 1.
Thanks for the welcome
Gary

Just type in the name - like a command.

It worked like a charm.
Instant change too, no need to restart computer or AutoCAD itself.

Just out of curiousity, which is the most common  way for the zoom to work amongst all the various CAD packages?

Many thanks again for helping me with the zoom.
