You can either just set a multiplication factor in your dimension style, or scale down your drawing 1000x (SCALE command, 0.001).

Scale the drawing globally - use the SCALE command, select all objects and enter the scale factor.

Why not just keep the drawing in millimeters and then when you need to dimension, change the dimstyle scale factor? Or, if you're just doing a "dist" (distance) command in autocad, you simply move the decimal place to the right 3 places. Millimeters, and metric for that matter, is so simple and easy to work with, there's no real need to change the scale of the drawing. Sombra2008-02-26 23:25:00

Here is a video showing you how to do just that.

Hello,
I am trying to print a drawing (backyard deck plans) that I made with acad2008 to my HP deskjet. When the drawing is reduced the dimensions text is also reduced (so small can't read). How do I print the drawing but end up with a legible font size when printed?

You can increase the relative scale of your dim texts (see Dim Styles), or you can dimension in the paperspace (layout) to keep your dimensions independent on model scale, or you can use a text style with fixed height.
