i have receiving a drawing but i can't open it i don't know with sofware is used for create it. the drawing have .asm .cfg and .par extension. i try solidwork, engineer and solid edge viewer but a can't read any assembly or part. anyone know witch software use that extension? thank ps. we use autodesk inventor 2011

The first thing I would have done is called the person who sent me the file and asked him rather than waste time trying to guess.I'm thinking it might be Solid Edge as well. "A .par file contains data about single mechanical part from a design.""A .asm file is a Solid Edge assembly file."

it's the first thing i try. but we don't have the informations about the consultant who have drawn this project. we are the constructors and the clients keeps secrets the name of each cie in this project. for the same reasons i can't send any file on the forum. i know is a difficult question and i am sorry for that.

Well can't you tell the client that you really need this information for you to do your job and then ask if they can somehow find out the information for you? Seems very odd that the people who are constructing the job cannot know the name of the company that designed it. Very odd indeed.

Thank for your help. i tel the client and they resend me a .step assembly. so a can work with it. thank you very much (sorry for my english)
