Are you referring to the PEDIT (Polyline Edit) command?  Looks like you are inquiring about a command called Polyline Diet.  No such command exists in AutoCAD 2000.  Not sure why you would need a lisp routine to invoke the command since AutoCAD gives you multiple ways to do so unless you want to combine it with one or more other commands.  Example: PEDIT, Multiple, Join, Fuzz Distance.You can also use a Macro to run a series of commands.
