Hello I need a software that is able to turn the DWG files into the object file so that I can import them in the " Bryce 5" I found a software that was called " SYCODE" but it was trial and I could convert just 9 DWG file into the OBJ file.Do you know any other similar software?

Have you searched online using the phrase "convert dwg to obj"?Maybe you ought to buy that SYCODE program if you are going to be dealing with this type of problem on an ongoing basis.  You can't always get what you want....for free.

Yes, I have searched but I didn't observe something like SYCODE. it is an excellent software for such converting. I also found a software that was able to convert DWG to FBX and then convert FBX to OBJ but after downloading the file was not opened and installed. This is the first thing that I see it is found rarely in the internet. The free software are easier and sweeter but sadly some of them are for trial and some are incomplete or defective. I wonder why the producers of AutoCad didn't create such exporting format for it, originally.

AutoCAD 2015 will export to the FBX file type. Can AutoCAD 2008 export to the 3DS file type by any chance?  If not is there a 3DSOUT command in 2008?

It is a long time that I have not worked with 3D studio and 4D cinema but as long as I know there is not any 3DS exporting file type but 3Dsout command exists. Does this command help me ? I mostly work with solids types.

Found this at the CADTutor website:

Step 1   In AutoCAD, go to FileExport… select the 3DS file type and follow the prompts.

Step 2   In Bryce, go to FileImport Object… and select the 3DS file you just created.

Step 3   When the model appears, land it down.

Step 4   Ungroup the model.

Step 5   Use the object edit option to smooth any curved objects.

Step 6   Assign appropriate materials to the objects.

Step 7   Add any Image Textures as materials.

Step 8   When you are happy with the appearance of the model, group the objects.

Step 9   Create a setting by assigning a material to the ground plane and modifying the sky.

Step 10  Render to disk if you want an image of your rendered model, FileRender to Disk…That's all the help I can offer.  Good luck.

I don't think that Autocad will export to 3ds (even though they own both systems). You'd think that would be first on their list, interchangable formats. As long as the DWG is a real or polygonal solid, I think you can do that with TransMagic, and its eval, unlike SYCODE, is full-featured (and free). The process is:1. Open the DWG. 2. Settings > Polygon output settings (set your mesh resolution)3. Save As > ObjBrad Strongwww.transmagic.com
