How do I enable "no doc mode" so that I can close all of my files and leave AutoCAD2010 running?

"No doc mode"?  Can't say I've ever heard of that. You can close all drawings individually via the "X" in the upper right hand corner until there are none left open.  At that point AutoCAD is still running and ready when you return to open a new drawing. Why is this "no doc mode" so important to you?  Is your computer under preforming?

Thx for the quick reply. As I closed the files, when I got to the last open file & clicked the X in the upper right corner, I would get the following error message: "No Doc Mode Disabled" meaning that AutoCAD could not be open unless there was an open file.  AutoCAD will not close this last open file unless I open another file.  Miraculously it's working now at home (no error message)...we'll see what happens in the morning at work.

It sounds like some add-on application controls this behaviour. Do you have some LISP or ARX tools loaded?

Closed - Solved?

Working well now, but not sure why.  I did make some significant modifications to one of my LISP files late yesterday.  Not getting the error. Much thanks for the input.

That should have been a tip off right there.  Were you experiencing the problem prior to making these "significant modifications"?

We loaded 2010 on 60+ machines and most if not all were getting this error. I then began autoloading an older LSP file (acad2000.lsp) on my machine, and was still getting the error.  This has been going on for about 6 months.  Yesterday, I copied a couple of lines from acad2000.lsp to acad2010.lsp.  Benign stuff like hotkeys for zoom control.  I also spent a lot of time in the settings searching high and low for "No Doc Mode Disabled" but couldn't find, nor did I change, the settings.  Last night I stopped getting the error, not sure why, but obviously I changed something.  Everyone around me is still getting the error.  Seems like there's a switch somewhere.  I'm seeing 66 applications loaded in my Load/Unload Application window...maybe it's one of those?
