Hi everybody,

I'm new on AutoCAD and I need some help

Yesterday, my selection windows along with the pickbox went missing. I was able to do the selection, but I couldn't see what I was selecting because I couldn't see neither the selection windows nor the pickbox.
Updating my video card driver didn't make any difference.
However when I turned off the hardware acceleration option, the selection window reappeared but the pickbox is still missing. I can't even see it in the Options window, and changing the size didn't make any difference.

Now, I just can't get the cursor to align on any grip point when I zoom in . I cannot make any change in my drawing because when I zoom out it becomes impossible to know which grip point goes with what

I just cannot work

Can someone help me solve these issues, Plz

Calm down.  The pickbox appears to be your only issue right now. Type [VAR]PICKBOX[/VAR] in the command line and make sure it is not 0 (zero). 3 is normal, but any integer from 1 to 50 will work.As for your grips, it just sounds like you need to turn your OSNAPS back on. Depress your F3 key to turn them on and off.To change your [CMD]OSNAP[/CMD] settings, type in [CMD]OSNAP[/CMD] at the command line.Does this help? Are there any other issues?Good Luck!!

Thanks HAWDesigner for answering

I actually keep my OSNAP on most of the time, and I checked many times as I was trying to sort this out.
The grips are there, but the cursor just "jumps" away from them when I move it. Same thing with any other element in the drawing, lines, curves, blocks. I have to use the selection window for every single thing, and yet it's a real challenge because of the missing pickbox.
It gets even worse when I try to work in the block editor. Nothing works there!
As for the gripbox, I already tried to change it's size. It wouldn't show up even when the size is set at the highest value.
It's driving me nuts

I think most people tend to keep their OSNAP on most of the time, but I do know there are times when my OSNAPs will get turned off (and cleared) and I'm left wondering how it happened.Anyways, you say:[quote]The grips are there, but the cursor just "jumps" away from them when I
move it.[/quote]Is it possible your SNAP (not OSNAP) is turned on? If so, then your cursor will snap to grid, and unless the grip is on the grid, your cursor will pass right over it.Depress F9 until you see "Command:  <Snap off>"Good Luck!!HAWDesigner2011-01-24 15:05:18
