Is there a difference in plotting via pc3 files and system printers? If there is, what are they?

pc3 files are printers installed into autocad, those remember your setting and changes (for printing from autocad), system printers don't. You also can have one printer with several different settings saved as a separate pc3 and use it quickly only by selecting, without setting everything each time again.
