This is not really a CAD issue but more of a plotting issue. Recently am starting having issues plotting PDF files to my large format plotter. When receiving drawings from clients, via pdf and trying to plot, computer crashes and blue screen of death comes up. Tech. rep has taken data down to try to figure out what has happened. We have gone back to earlier version of Adobe reader and that doesn't seem to fix issue. Also we back in windows to earlier version and that doesn't seem to work... Any suggestions. AutoCad prints fine but PDF's don't. HP design jet 500 plotter is what we use....thanks

We have the same plotter.  Some PDFs crash the plotter and a few have even locked up AutoCAD.  I hear this is not a problem with the Postscript versions of the DJ-500.I put in for a replacement printer and I am keeping my fingers crossed it gets approved for the 2nd fiscal quarter.  Damn bean counters are stingy as hell in the 1st quarter.  Grrrrrrr.John Connor2012-10-19 17:32:32

What happens if you load the PDF file(s) into Design Center, resave them as DWFs, and then plot them?  Does the same thing happen? Is there a chance this is a driver issue with the plotter?Dave.
