extra lines just kills cambam.  I seem to generate them with the stretch and mirror commands.  I try to be careful, but....  I have the free version of draftsight.  it doesn't recognize OVERKILL cmd.   is there a different command or procedure to automatically eliminate the extra lines I may mistakenly create?

There is no automatic way to remove extra lines in Draftsight that is equivalent to AutoCAD's Overkill command.  Sorry, but you'll have to do it manually.I don't know how you are managing to generate duplicate or overlapping lines using the Stretch and Mirror commands.  You need to pay closer attention to what you are doing.  Those kinds of mistakes are usually the provenance of newbies to CAD.

eww, that hurts  :-)  I once wrote autocad code when I worked for McDonnell-douglas automation in a prior life!  that was decades ago.  I will continue to try to figure out what I am doing to generate extra lines.  it is interesting, when I select lines with a crossing box, sometimes i'll see additional handles, indicating extra lines, but found one case where there were several layers of full lines and partials stacked up and only the endpoint/midpoint handles showed.[just like when there is only a single line]what I am typically doing is quite simple, stretching the sizes of mortise and tenons on some plywood cnc furniture.  it seems the shrinking adds lines(?).  you're right thought, as IBM manuals used to say "probable user error".

What is the source of the original drawing?
