in autocad architecture there is a command line at the bottom of the drawing page which is used to type commands in by using short cut keys but i cannot seem to find this feature in revit architecture pleeeeeease help is this feature in revit or not

No, Revit commands are selected in the ribbons (menus). But you can define keyboard shortcuts in Revit and type in commands like VG, RO, etc.

thankyou for your help but how do i set up these short cut keys as i am new to the revit any help would be gratefully recieved

It depends on the Revit version - in the latest Revit 2011 you can define the shorcuts using R > Options > User interface > Configure > Keyboard shortcuts.
 
In older Revit versions these shortcuts are defined in the text file KeyboardShortcuts.txt you have to edit manually.

or you can just type in from the keyboard - KS if you are using Revit 2011
