Display full version of the post: Rogue boxes on drawings

Hello all, I am using autocad 2008 and am doing alot of 3d modelling with it. All has been going well until this week when some flanges i had drawn started to turn into boxes following closing the file and re-opening it.

As the drawing is loading the flanges still appear as flanges but then change into random sized boxes which are still on the same layer as the flanges were.

Our heldesk has never heard of it before and therefor cannot tell me how to solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

-Have you tried doing an Audit on the drawing?
-Using any 3-rd party to draw flanges, or are they made of basic 3d solids.

-Did you mean "hell-desk"? :)

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have just tried an audit and told it to fix any problems but it hasn't solved it.

The parts i am drawing have been created by myself only and are created from basic solids (extruding 2d shapes etc).

There seems to be no correllation between the times when it happens. It's on random sheets of the drawing set and on drawings where the same part appears several times it may only be 1 part which it happens to.

I have noticed that it may happen to one part then i will save the drawing and close it down, then when i re-open it then another part will have changed into a box.

It's baffled me and the unhelpful desk!

Just found something else strange.  If i copy the 'boxes' which were formerly flanges and past them anywhere else within model space they change back into flanges!

I then deleted the boxes and replaced them with the flanges, saved and closed the drawing, re-opened it and they turned into boxes again!
