We have AUTOCAD 2006 and need to save a file into a PDF format. I gather from the info that we should use Acrobat 6 (distiller) to change the format but am unable to marry the two together to get the desired results.
Autocad refers to Autocad Plotter configuration editor which I am unable to locate.
Please could someone provide a PDF for dummies help
many
thanks

My ACAD 2007 has an option to plot directly to PDF.  I would look there first, see if you can simply add the Autodesk plotter, direct to pdf.   I found this option under the file menu, plotter manager.   I'm not sure if your version has this capability, so, The other easy option is to download PDF995.  This is a windows system printer driver that prints directly to PDF from virtually any application.   I've been using this for some time now and am very satisfied.   Good Luck.

Update your CAD to 2007 and you do not need to install Acrobat. However either to update to a higher version or to buy the acrobat will cost a lot of money, you can try some dwg2pdf converters, e.g: http://www.autodwg.com/PDF/the reason I'm using it is that it can batch convert and use CTB files to convert.
