I am looking to create a CAD standard for our company. We are trying to create a shackle block that has all of the possible shackles we use. What I need is as follows: 1. Plan View   2. Side View  3. Bolt Type Shackle 4. Screw Pin Type Shackle  5. Anchor Type 6. Chain Type

I have 16 different sizes of shackles and I want the block to work as follows: 1. Pick View  2. Pick between Anchor or Chain shackle  3. Pick between Bolt or Screw Pin type  4. Size of shackle

Any advice for solving this soution would be greatly appreciated.

You're doing this as a dynamic block right?

Hello mizabawa011, you said that you want to create a standard of the shackles that your company uses.
I supose that it's shackles that you buy and not shackles that you make.
There are already some shackles right here in the CAD Blocks library.
Look on the top left of the page, clic on CAD Blocks, on the next page launch a search with the word SHACKLE and you will find approx. 6 DWG files.
There are 3 of mine ( 2D and 3D of anchar shackles ) including one made with THE CROSBY GROUP individual files grouped in one file for ease of use + some modifications noted.
I can also provide a file including 2D anchor shackles  in DYNAMIC BLOCKS.
I can also provide a file including THE CROSBY GROUP chain shackles.
If you register on THE CROSBY GROUP site you will be able to download a lot of their products and also ask some question to their technicians.
Ask for more...

Yes I am doing it as a dynamic block.

We have all of the crosby drawings for the individual shackles, but we want one master block that will allow us to only have one block that will have all of the sizes and types of the desired shackle.

Once again, any advice about how to go about doing this is appreciated.

Hello again mizabawa011, as John CONNOR said you will have to do a DYNAMIC BLOCK.
As I said before, I can provide an example of X shackles in one dynamic block that we have in my company.
I don't know the procedure to achieve this, but I think you will suceed with the help of the AutoCAD documentation or with the F1 help.
You can also finf what you want on the Autodesk site :
