Can anyone help me convert a Solidworks file to an AutoCAD file? I contract work for the DOD and I have a 3D building that is in AutoCAD (it needs to stay an AutoCAD file, I can't convert it to another software). My contractor that designs my furniture and office equipment does so in Solidworks. I need to "import" his files into my drawing so that I can render a final image. I downloaded the IGES and STL import from SYCODE. The STL import worked however, the file isn't really usable. I imported a desk phone, a small simple file, and it coverted it to 90,000 faces. It's not edittable and I can't even move it because the system freezes since there's so many faces. I tried importing a desk and AutoCAD froze and shut down. I have plenty of space on my computer so that's not the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or know how I can import a Solidworks file without it creating thousands of faces? The mesh option didn't seem to work either.
