good day,i'm hoping that someone has some tips for drawing 3d split washers. i did search engine searches and came up empty. hoping that someone has a lisp or visual basic for applications solution that they can share. TIA

I'm pretty sure someone over at CADTutor solved this problem.Isn't a split washer pretty much a helix with the profile of the washer extruded or swept along its path?

Hi John,thanks for the reply. yeah, my initial thought was a sweep along a 3dpoly path, if that's even permitted. sounds easy enough, but those are the ones that get me into the most trouble. i took a quick look at the site you recommended, couldn't find it.i downloaded a 3d model that was close enough for my immediate needs, but i will re-visit this, since it will go nicely with some of my other mechanical routines i have written.

A 3Dpolyline won't work because you can't have arcs.I visited CADTutor and found what I was referring to but it turned out to be done in 2D and not 3D. Sorry about that.
