JC!!Still on here solving the worlds un-known CAD problems! Bravo man!! Ok so no xrefs are being used. its a block created by our company...a title block text entity or 'block reference'.Its the craziest thing I've seen...he changes it, checks it in, checks it back out and as its 'checking out'...that pause before you can work on it? That bastard text changes right before your eyes and defaults to the file name.the way we change the title block is its an enhanced attribute editor...with 'tags', 'prompts' and 'value'. the 'value' secition is what changes on him..I suspect its some sort of default attribute editor issue....but who knows....its got everybodies panties in a bunch, an its driving him and us crazy...

I can barely solve my own problems let alone those of anyone else.  Including yours.I have no experience using Vault and from what I've read I'm not too sure I'd want to.Did you check the attribute itself?

Yeah...but for what? What would I be looking for? everything seemed identical to the settings on my station...yet I don't have this issue...

OK....so this only happens on this one computer.Well scratch that idea (re: attribute).Have you tried stripping out the block, purging the drawing, then inserting a new block?

Not yet. I'm assuming that may help isolate one set of problems from another?

Just did that. apparently vault is pushing back user defined attributes into the drawing title block...why is the question now

I don't know how you would track the source of the faulty information.

Have you solved your problem yet?

Can't solve the problem?

we found it:acad/vault tab/vault options/prompts/in command column, on 'check out', Some properties may be out of date. Do you want to update properties now?Affected file(s): {0}he had it set under 'frequency' to 'never prompt'...which is why we (I) didn't have problems and this individual did. We changed that setting to 'always prompt'. Solved for now! but I have a feeling the solution was more 'work around' than permanent fix...
