Hi, I use AutoCAD 2008 LT for creating electrical drawings.
I have no problem with the program and have created many good quality drawings
for my customers. What I’m having a problem is when I receive a DWG from a architect
or try to use blocks from trusted web site that are created  in a more recent version of Acad. I downloaded
True View DWG from Autodesk to convert. When I download the program all my DWG
file will only open in the True View program and I’m not able to open any of the
file that were sent . Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to change a windows setting so Autocad lt is the default program for opening .dwg files. You also could right click on a dwg file, "open with" then select AC LT.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I should have mention that
I have set AC 2008LT as the default program to open DWG, also when “open with”
AC LT, DWG file will only open in the
True View program?

Found these discussions:http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?104445-remove-Trueview-as-Defaulthttp://www.cadtutor.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-70162.html?s=9c13c69d407ba66f6476402de6ae557c Didn't read it all. Looks like one way is to not double-click on file name, rather start AutoCAD LT, then browse to file.

Hi, everything  is working fine now; I just wish Auto Cad would
create software that would be compatible with all versions   instead
of developing new software every year to make a profit. Thank you so much for
all your time and effort I really appreciate all the help.

Kind RegardsGill
