In autoCAD LT 2011, is there a way to get cut/fill quantities for a simple site. Our surveyor took shots and the "+" where his shots have a correct "Z" value for elevation. There is a different layer for the +, and the labels that go along with the shots. I wish I had legit autoCAD or microstation but im limited with this LT. Am I going to have to manually find the cut/fill?

You wouldn't be able to do this directly even if you had a "legit" (full version) of AutoCAD.  You'd need Civil 3D I'm afraid.

Might as well resign yourself to creating cross sections and working this with end areas.  Or, if you have finish and existing contours, and an old planimeter, working the problem by hand the way civil engineers like me did it in the "old" days.

I think you could do it in full AutoCAD as long as you could find a suitable third-party add on.  If you do enough of this type of work then going with Civil 3D would probably be the best solution.  If you do this type of work on a few rare occasions then a less-expensive add-on might just be the ticket.  Do a cost/benefit analysis before making any purchasing decisions.
