Drag and drop your blocks onto a new palette and away you go.

Not really although most knowledgeable users will create their blocks on layer "0" as a matter of good CAD practice.

Hello glenjensen and John.

Glen if you don't succesd in uploading your blocks press the F2  button and read the eventual error message ( for example the file that you want to insert if of a higher AutoCAD release ).

John you talk about "0" layer for blocks but is it the layer set when you create the block or the layer of the lines inside the block ?

If you create the block of lines in the layer "0" then a change of layer of the composed block will change the color and line type of the block for free.
This is good and doesn't oblige you to set the lines color and line type : by block instead of leting them by layer but then the AutoCAD Mechanical command AMSHIDE won't work with "0" and will work with "by block".
