Not a newbie on the boards and have used AutoCAD for 'bout 10 years.

All my drawings have been done using model space, 1:1 scale.
Makes life easy. I scaled (used to) my title block to fit around my drawing in model space. FYI. All my printing is done 8-1/2" x 11 (laser letter) and/or *.pdf which I fit to the paper (letter) size.

I am now trying to work with drawings which I have two layers; i.e.: model & title block. Having some fun with this but, stumped on how
to proceed.

All works well except, title block layer, is sometimes overwhelmed; i.e.:
a drawing in model space that might be 15 ft long, doesn't scale properly in my title block layer.

I do like the idea having a title block layer where I can't edit the drawing done in model space.

Where am I goin' wrong? Might this be, "Can't teach an old dog new tricks?"

I've attached a *.dwg file for show 'n tell. What am I doin' wrong?Tankman2010-01-21 01:03:43

My suggestion would be to scale the object down to the title block, as if in the layout tab (paperspace) with a viewport. Although, maybe simply using paperspace and a veiwport would solve your problem...I think.
Im not clear on what exactly is not scaling; model geometry, which could be on any layer? Or your title block, which is on a 'title block' layer?

I added a drawing, using model and title block views to further explain my dilemma.

Guess my scale is off in one view or another(?).

Mr Tankman,

My suggestion is try learn how to work with Layout (Paper Space) when comes to put in title block instead of Model space. I would suggest you as well migrated from plotting in Model space to Paper space. You 'll found that your life be more easier.Rman2010-01-21 07:31:33

Thanks Rman! After playin' around a bit, think I have it down pat (well, almost).

I'm working in model space but resize and or adjust view in model and/or paperspace!  Good deal! Thanks again!
