Do you know how to use viewports in acad?  Obviously I am doing something wrong or viewports will not work in acad lite.
 
There may be more than one way to fix my problem;  I am drawing all of my plan views for this project at 1/4"=1'-0" and I have a BUNCH of details drawn at many scales. I  have details from 3/4"=1' all the way to 1=1
 
When I insert these into the .25 scale dwgs there is always something that needs to be fixed, like the text, dims etc
 
Someone told me that you can open viewports and draw at any scale and put them in any dwg and they will be right but I cannot get it to work for me
