Hi guys, I hope someone can answer some questions.  I am with an orthodontic lab and some new technology has come out recently that lets us scan plaster models to archive them digitally.  The scanners software can export the files as .stl files or a proprietary .dcm file to the scanning company.  I am looking for a way to take the file, and make it available to orthodontists to view via an online viewer.  The problem is that the average sized stl for the upper and lower jaw is around 8-10 mb.  Is anyone familiar with a way to compress the files and make available to view in a viewer that can be viewed in a browser?

You might look at a program called STL Viewer 2.2 as one option.  I do not have any experience with it so I cannot tell you how well it performs.  Try it out judge for yourself.http://stlviewer.org/
