Hi,I do adobe illustrator images and save them as pdfs and jpgs. Most of my drawings are white canvas with black pencil to draw the designs.I want to have my designs etched into some plastic items which I will give my family. The factory that will etch the items need a dwf or dxf file for their machine to make the etchings.I know illustrator  can save as dxf or dwg but it also saves all the layers and this isnt what i want.I essentially need a way of taking my illustrator designs and converting them into identical 2D dxf or dwg files. In illustrator my designs are drawn in black so I need those lines to be converted into exactly the same lines but in a CAD file. What is the highest quality way of converting these files?I hope this makes sense to someone and thanks in advance for the help.If anyone has any other suggestions if I am going about this all the wrong way id really appreciate the help.Cheers :)

Hi,

For your PDFs you can use pdf2cad. It is a PDF to DXF converter. It has an option to remove layers if needed. There is a fully functional trial version available on http://www.pdf2cad.com
