Hello there, Does any of you has any experience drawing Wrought Iron doors or Gates ? I been working for a window and door company for over 4 years and I always wanted to learn how to draw our ornamental entry doors. The company that does the grill work for us provided us with a Generic Catalog but whenever a customer wants something different we don't have a way to draw it to scale. I would really appreciate if any of you can give me some tips or guide me on the right direction of where to look or to start in order to do a CAD Drawing of an ornamental grill. Thanks a lot.

AutoCAD 2015 and you can't draw something to scale?  Odd to say the least.Anyway, the advice given most often today is to draw everything in model space FULL size no matter if you are drawing a paperclip or the Brooklyn Bridge.  FULL size!  After doing that you switch to a layout and create one or more viewports.  Viewports are windows that let us see what we have created back in model space.  Viewports are assigned a scale.  You do NOT draw "to scale" as you might do if you were a draftsman back in 1972 working "on the board".  That is considered to be "old school".  Got it?
