Hate to say it. I skipped most of the book to find what I needed but I am going to get into it deep this weekend.

Did you come across any quotes from the Bible yet? Did you find the one I mentioned previously? I wasn't kidding now was I?

I got it.

John I had to work with a lot of the settings.
I had to change the end limit and intensity drastically to get what I needed but this is the end result.
I can now use this model to do lamps of all types and colors.

And Yes I Like Book

Thank you John they a have it at amazon when I get home tonight I will see if I can get it through Minnesota State. I also noted that he has some newer ones.
This command really helped the look of the light put into a glass bulb. "LIGHTINGUNITS <2>: 0"
Still reading on this setting and playing with it.

The book is an old one called "3D AutoCAD 2009 - One Step At A Time" written by Timothy Sean Sykes.

And you'll like this. I'm 100% serious. The guy included bible quotes. For example, on page 283 he quotes Genesis 1:3 - Then God said "Let there be light"... This is in the Lights section of the book lesson 11.4; I kid you not!

I did. I also tried some smoked glass. then just glass and gave it color.
What I'm trying to do is make a red, green or amber led behind smoke gray poly.
I can get the led color by changing the light.
It just don't look like the light is coming from the led. I have use point, distance and spot.
I maybe looking at it wrong for I looked over the web and don't seem to be the only-one looking to do something like this.
SO HEEEEELP.

If you can find the name of that book I would look for it on the web.
Got to go for the weekend I will look back Monday.

Yes, it is possible. I recall creating a lamp that was lit from within while following a tutorial in a book I had purchased about AutoCAD and 3D.

Did you give the glass some transparency?

I thought that I had seen a thread here that talked about illuminating an object form the inside like a light blub.
I can't find it. Is there a way to make a lighted blub. I tried to put the light in a tube set the materials to a gray glass.
That did not work right.
