CTB - Color Dependent Plot Style

STB - Named Plot Style

If you are printing mainly in black and white then I suggest you use either a Monochrome CTB or a Monochrome STB so everything will plot in black no matter what color you assigned the layers back in your drawing.  This will work IF you use Index colors.  If you choose to use True Colors then those colors will override the plot style and they WILL plot in color.

CAD Discussion > Forum: AutoCAD > Under the bold word AutoCAD you'll see a button labelled "New Topic with a blue cross on it.  Click the button.  Where it says Subject type in a heading like "My New Topic".  Where it says Message type in your question, etc.  When done click on the button below the Message box that says "Post New Topic".  Done.

See the new thread I just created under the AutoCAD forum called "My New Topic" for an example.

Sorry I am in meetings I don't sit at my computer full time; I am working as well; I really don't understand CTB or STB, I am just getting into using cad I am mostly printing from model space and trying to print in black and white. CadZ: How do you expect to get help with a problem if you won't answer questions in a timely manner?

If you have figured it out yourself then fine at least come back and say so.  And tell us what your solution was too as others may benefit from your new knowledge.

Are you printing from model space or from a layout?

Are you using a CTB or STB plot style?

You're printing in color is that correct?

CadZ:

It is not good form to hijack a thread by another member that pertains to an entirely different problem.  In the future start a new thread of your own.

You should be creating your new shop drawing based upon a custom template that is already setup with the correct layers, linetypes, lineweights and colors.  Doing it this way saves a lot of time and effort.
