I last used LIMITS when I took a basic AutoCAD course and never used it again after that.  I don't know of anyone that uses it on a regular basis.  AutoCAD will accommodate whatever you draw be it the smallest coin you have in your pocket or the world's longest suspension bridge.  It is virtually limitless.  Someone even once took the time to draw our universe, full size, using AutoCAD.  How's that for a "limit"?  Large enough for you?

Now if you are asking about what standard size paper to print to then that is going to depend on the type of "engineering" you do to some extent.  Are you a civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical engineer?  What do you normally draw?  Roads and highways, building frames or bridges, electrical schematics or control cabinet layouts, machine parts, HVAC, other?

What paper size can you currently print to?  Will you be doing your own printing or will you be using the services of a reprographics firm?  Will you be sharing your drawings with others?  If so will you be sending actual drawing files or PDFs?

We need more information.
