What is the timeline for upgrading your hardware?  The plan is to have all new hardware with in 2 years.  Servers, workstations and our graphics department

Are there any plans to upgrade from AutoCAD 2012 to the latest version, 2016, or the soon to be released version 2017?  We currently have a subscription.  We 'could' upgrade to 2016 if the hardware and software allowed this.

How many people in your office use AutoCAD? About 20 people use AutoCad

How many people in your office use Revit?  What version is being used currently?  No one actually uses revit here.  We have 1 copy that is unused.  Learning Revit is high on my list to accomplish

I would think that an add-on to AutoCAD is not going to do you much good when it comes to using Revit and vice-versa.  I was hoping that some one knew of a software that could do both.  At least I did not waste much time looking for something that actually exists.  I should focus on an AutoCad add-on at this point. 

Is it necessary to run both AutoCAD and Revit or could one (AutoCAD most likely) be eliminated?  The initial thoughts are to run mainly autocad until we are all revit proficient.  After that, I am sure revit will be the choice to move forward.

Who is going to take on the task of standardizing company blocks?  Unfortunately, that will be me.  I will borrow people as they have some down time.

Is there a company CAD standards booklet?  Not as of yet, I am trying to pull stuff off the internet and made the adjustments that is for our company.

Just recently I decided to move into a CAD Manager role here in my office.  We are an architecture/ design firm that has been sitting in the stone age for some time.  I am now going to push us forward to eventually make my life easier.  Right now, I am sitting at an under powered computer that is a Core2 Duo and running XP.  Our autocad is 2012.  Yh, that is the highest our system will support with out an upgrade.

As we move forward, I want to keep "my eyes on the prize" and I would appreciate some advise on direction.  Most of our work is repetitive retail work and we are starting to get some larger university buildings.  I would like to move this office into a keynote standard.  Anyone have some good experience with an add-on package to autocad?  It would be great if the add-on would also work with Revit.  We also need to re-establish our cad blocks.  Too many people through the years have created blocks with out any organization or standards.
